Lawn Cemetery

The Lawn Section at Nudgee Cemetery is designed so that every person buried will have a headstone placed on their grave. The headstone is erected in a vertical fashion to ensure easy location of a particular grave. The vertical headstone also protects the inscription from premature fading.

Each lawn plot purchased after 1993 may accommodate three interments. Provided that there is a time lapse of twelve months between each burial. Should the grave be required within twelve months of the first burial, then the grave would be limited to just two interments.

At Nudgee Cemetery a granite headstone with inscription is included in the costs at the time of the burial.

Although there is a standard inscription, families can supply a different inscription or wording if they prefer and can also arrange a ceramic photo of their loved one to be affixed to the headstone.

Some people prefer a more formal option; this is the standard headstone on a granite base with one or two flower vases either side of the headstone.

Other accessories are available from the Cemetery office, such as statues, solar lights and ceramic ware.

It is the Cemetery's responsibility to maintain the lawn areas of the cemetery.
